Light & Refection

Date: 25 September - 30 October 2021

Location: Malvern Artists’ Society Gallery, 1297 High Street, Malvern Victoria

The work in this exhibition continues the exploration of light and lustre glazes. There are four series in this exhibition: Dappled Light, Morning Light, Sunset Sky and Parched Earth. Each series draws upon light and interaction with the atmosphere and environment outside my studio. Dappled Light series is light seen through the tree canopy and grasses, Morning Light is more reflected light off clouds, morning mist or the first gold light of morning, Sunset Sky series captures the blood red sky at sunset and Parched Earth series captures the texture of the first droplets of rain onto the dry powdery ground creating a pitted surface. The rain creates puddles that reflect light.

Greg Daly filmed this special video in the lead up to the exhibition ‘Light & Reflection’ from his home in Cowra, NSW. In this video he discusses some of his exceptional new works for the exhibition, his incredible techniques and inspirations.

The Journey Continues

Date: 31 July - 14 August 2021

Location: Malvern Artists’ Society Gallery, 1297 High Street, Malvern Victoria

Creating art, I am conscious of imbuing the work with such things as elegance, strength, sincerity and generosity, which possess a certain humanity. In the glazing process, I am very mindful of the need to harmonise colour, texture and application to enhance each individual piece.

The Journey Continues

Tania Rollond - In Place

Amy Kennedy - On Closer Inspection

An exhibition of exemplary ceramic work

Date: 10-24 April 2021

Location: Malvern Artists’ Society Gallery, 1297 High Street, Malvern Victoria

Tania Rollond Every morning I walk through the bush as the day begins - it is quiet, fresh and full of potential, a network of tiny details in constant motion. This is the feeling I hope to embed in the pots I make.

Amy Kennedy This new work pulls on the thread of an idea I have had for a few years. My intention, to set up specific windows of potential for material and form to linger in unexpected ways. It's a play between lightness and mass, delicacy and intensity.
